I go through phones like gym socks. They last a year or so and then they need to be replaced. I’ve been a daily user of a mobile phone since 1995, an old Motorola StarTac.

Those were cool, huh? Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I know what I like in a phone. A good phone tends to keep calls for as long as possible, allow you to dial a number extremely quickly, and has a long and predictable battery life. It isn’t that easy to find. I’ve been burned. Nokia and Motorola make excellent phones, but they aren’t often the FREE phones I’ve would up getting in past years.

This post is the first in a series where I will profess my love for my BlackBerry. Part II will talk about ruggedness, which is missed in many of these fancy iPhone’s and iPhone clones.

Part III will talk about productivity, and I’m not quite sure yet what parts IV and V will be about.
